The skate lanes throughout the system are firm and fast. The classic track is also glazed now and solid. Ski conditions overall are excellent at Greenbush. With light and variable winds these past few days the classic track has remained clear of debris for the most part.

I arrived at 9:30 and the trails were freshly groomed! They are all in perfect condition (skate and classic) thanks to the efforts of our grooming team! Sun, calm and 13 degrees mad for an excellent day!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were beautifully groomed and tracked last evening... Um, ya just ahead of the little snowstorm that blew in off big blue leaving about 2" of cold coarse windblown snow on the trails. On the bright side the sun is shining and it's now a balmy +11F. It's OK to go slow and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at Greenbush today. Grooming plans: We'll groom and reset track this evening or tomorrow morning.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Most everything has been groomed and track set. No new track on the green or black, but skied in. Greenbush will be a virtual Birkie site. Don’t pass up the once in a lifetime opportunity to do a Greenbush Birkie.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
At least 2 inches of new snow fell on Greenbush system by noon today. Grooming this morning would not have changed the generally slow conditions for both skate and classic skiing today. Classic skiing was much less effort with most of the track set yesterday and skied in today. Some drifting is noted on the west side of the purple loop near the marsh. Grooming plans: Grooming will commence later today and tomorrow morning but expect slower conditions for the near future.

Our second visit to these trails this winter while visiting family, Joanie and I arrived mid-morning just as the groomer was finishing up his great work. We classic skied the purple, green, and red trails for a couple of hours on freshly set tracks and skate lanes. Just a bit slow with the new snow and cold temps, but it was a fun outing for us. Thanks so much for the early morning grooming!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracked this morning. With 2" of cold new snow classic would be the technique of choice. Naturally I skated. The skate deck is rather soft and crunchy. The track is much faster. I used it on all downhills. The wind chill remains very low but the scenery is spectacular. As the Aussies say, "best to rug up".

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Temps in single digits, blue sky, recently set tracks made for excellent classic skiing this afternoon. The conditions made for great kick, only had to bring the herringbone out of the bag a couple of times on the Green Trail. Very little debris except for those pesky ash trees shedding bark.

All loops are groomed and tracked. The skate deck is very firm and getting faster. Aside from low wind chill the ski conditions are excellent.
