After 8+ inches of snow, it took us a while , but Washburn is ready for skiing. The trail needs a little touch up, which should be completed early tomorrow.  Some classic tracks were put down today, but not in all sections.  The skate deck is all done.

The skate deck was cleaned up on all trail segments this morning. Classic tracks were left alone, since they were holding up nicely after being set this past weekend.

Amazing mid season like conditions, perfect corduroy with great consistency for turns. This is probably the best I have seen here. Classic tracks perfect and fast. Awesome job groomers!

Trails had excellent snow coverage with 42" of snowfall this season. Groomer was out perfecting the trail from the several inches that fell the night before. Deck was slightly soft but with tonight's cold temps it could be firm tomorrow. Worth the drive to this hilly trail system with heated building.

Washburns deck was refurbished and new tracks are in place. There will be no morning grooming to clean up form this evenings light snowfall. However, the trail should be brushed tomorrow evening in preparation for skiing on Sunday.

The entire Washburn trail system was reset this morning. Cold temperatures should spell a hard deck and firm classic tracks.

Excellent early season conditions. I skied classic, and the track and poles plants were firm. Skate looked a little lumpy, but certainly skiable. Looks like a lot of hard work by the groomers clearing trees and rolling/setting track.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Washburn's grooming has been coming along nicely. Grooming plans: All trail segments should be ready for all skiers by Saturday. Even for tomorrow the trails are a go, but there could be a few soft spots (remember we got lots of snow). We will be putting the final touches on tomorrow afternoon/evening, and coming back on Saturday afternoon/evening to refurbish the deck.

As of this morning about 50% of the system is groomed and tracked. We were able to pack and roll a few more segments, so that by Friday, about 95% of the system should be open. Only the landfill loop remains untouched. We are planning on taking care of that early next week.
