Skied Washburn early this afternoon. Everything is in great shape. Grooming plans for skate deck to be cleaned up tonight, as well as tomorrow evening. The classic tracks are hanging in there nicely. Should be primed for weekend skiing.

This was my second ski at Washburn this week. Both classic and skate were groomed to perfection each day.

What a pleasant surprise from yesterday’s ungroomed trails attempt. In some cases, I was the first on fresh corduroy trails. Skiing was a blast and covered all skate trails.

Excellent skiing on the south trails. Track was very good with few leaves and branches in track. Snow is almost perfect. Saw a nice goshawk.

While the entire system was groomed on Saturday, today we reset the skate deck. The classic tracks from Saturday were not touched, as they are in good condition.

Overall the classic conditions are good. Pole plants and tracks are solid. The only reason I wouldn’t rate things as excellent is due to a lot of leaves in the track, which of course has nothing to do with grooming. The skate surface appears to have been regroomed since yesterday and looked great.

The entire trail system has been worked on over the past two days. We received about 3 inches of snow on Sunday. This provided us the opportunity to wipe out the old classic tracks and put in new ones. Along with that, the skate deck was resurfaced. Both should firm up nicely with cold temperatures.

Almost perfect conditions to start the new year. Classic track and pole plants were solid. Skate deck looked great too.

After 8+ inches of snow, it took us a while , but Washburn is ready for skiing. The trail needs a little touch up, which should be completed early tomorrow.  Some classic tracks were put down today, but not in all sections.  The skate deck is all done.

The skate deck was cleaned up on all trail segments this morning. Classic tracks were left alone, since they were holding up nicely after being set this past weekend.
