Skied the entire system which was pretty slow due to warm temps. Off the man-made snow it was a mix of poor to good. The open field areas are good coverage. Most uphills in the woods are very dirty snow with roots/rocks peeking out and there were several spots that were down to the ground. It is difficult to fully avoid these woody/rocky sections as they are numerous. The classic tracks actually looked better than the skate lane. At this point, I'm still happy I chose to do the longer loop instead of staying in the hamster wheel, but without more snow, this might not be the case in a few days.

With a corduroy groomed smooth skate deck provided the most perfect ski conditions. The magic downhill was fast and very controllable. The climbs were very good for skaters. I certainly have ever had as good of conditions in my 32 Birkies and 3 Kortes. Thanks to the groomers and the report of good conditions which why I drove 45 minutes to ski Lapham today.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I tilled and set tracks on the entire man-made loop early this morning. With the steady temps and no change in the weather for almost 2 weeks, the man-made loop is really holding up well and continues to be in excellent skiing condition. Everyone can continue to use their best skis. The DNR continues to groom the entire trail system off the manmade. Again, without any new snow for almost two weeks, it is starting to get thin. I would recommend rock skis anywhere off the manmade.

Saturday the upper loops were in fantastic condition. The groom job Friday night was amazing...flat, clean, and almost perfect. The groomer used the outside snow and incorporated it to the trail. On Sunday, a much different story. The skate lane was ground to dirt in the middle. The other outlying passes had a swerving terraced outcome. Almost the entire upper loop was like this. It’s a head scratcher for the simple reason we had such a great day out Saturday.

Freshly groomed and tracked trails on the man-made snow loop this morning (thanks for the overnight grooming). Joanie and I skated and strided for a couple of hours starting at dawn and the conditions were excellent. The crowd grew as we skied and the Evergreen parking lot was almost full when we finished mid-morning.

Grooming

I just came in off the man-made loop with the sweet new Pisten Bully. I tilled and set tracks on the whole man-made loop. It is in excellent skiing condition, bring out the best skis you own and enjoy the sweet ski trails. The DNR continues to groom the whole trail system, it is starting to get thin, so I would use your B skies or rock skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The man made loop was groomed last night by the Pb. A new classic track was set and the skate deck was tilled. Conditions should be great today. The DNR groomed off the man made loop and conditions should be good with a few thin spots.

Skied the green loop. Conditions were very good in the man-made snow. Off of the man- made loop the classic tracks were holding up pretty well. Tracks were a little shallow, but still firm and defined in most places, with good snow coverage. The skate deck looked to have more debris and dirt than the tracks, with the skate deck thinning and getting dirty in high use areas, especially on hills or under conifers.

Ho hum, just another day in Nordic paradise on the manmade snow loops. Fresh grooming, great skate conditions, solid, deep, and straight tracks. Coupled with mild, calm weather, it just doesn’t get any better.

Excellent conditions on the manmade snow loops after an overnight grooming. New tracks were set and look to be in great condition. Skate deck is flat with a loose layer of snow on a firm base - very fun to ski.
