Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I just finished with our sweet Pisten Bully. It has worked its magic once again. I have groomed, tilled, and reset tracks on the entire 2.5 km man-made trail system. Skiing today will be really really awesome! Skiers continue to ski off the man-made on the entire trail system, using rock skis.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Drifting snow and strong wind made for very variable glide. No classic tracks on outer loops. Inner loops have old tracks and have been skied in in good condition. Recent inch or two of fluffy snow over very hard base created some treacherous spots. Occasional roots and rocks sticking out but well visible due to recent layer of snow. I skied all of blue, purple and some black.

Grooming

The man made loop was Piston Bully groomed at night. The skate deck is in excellent condition. The classic tracks were reset and are in great condition. The center of the north loop was set up for the Wednesday night race.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The 2.5 K of manmade snow loops are groomed and tracked, with very good conditions throughout. Most enjoyable is the Woods Loop, with freshly made snow that has not yet experienced the thaws and rain that the Pond Loop has been through. Many segments with double classic tracks that are solid and straight.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the full man-made loop 1.06 miles for the first time and it was very enjoyable. The groomed skate was fast but enough edging for control especially down the magic carpet. Only had to ski 10 loops for 10.6 miles. The full man-made loop has an average climb of 77 feet per mile which is more climbing feet per mile than the Korte race I will be doing in February.

Grooming Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Snowmakers, the D N R, and the groomers have been really busy the last 4 days. Our 2.5 km trail system has an abundance of man-made snow. Mark and I have leveled all the snow whales, tilled, and set tracks on the entire man made loops! Mother nature finally has given us some cold weather and we hopefully will ski into the woods for the next few months. Skiers have been skiing off the man-made with rock skis, and are saying it’s alright.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Nice conditions for skate this afternoon on the lower manmade snow loop. Note that snowmaking and spreading operations are in process, with the cold weather, which impacts skiing conditions and trail availability. See the new map of snowmaking trails at the Evergreen trailhead. Currently, the One KM loop and the Tail End Loop are being skied, but this will change quickly as other segments are spread, tilled, and groomed, including the Woods Loop. Note that the current striding tracks are solid and fast, but there are gaps at intersections and the trailhead.

Dad and I headed up Gut Buster to the Black loop. Was able to ski everything except for Two Tier. Overall, conditions were good. There were some bare spots on some of the uphills. Great to get out today!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Good day skiers. The Piston Bully was out last night grooming the freshly fallen snow. Conditions on the lower man made loop are excellent. The skate deck is flat and level. The classic tracks were reset and are in great shape. The snow makers added more snow to the bottom of magic carpet. Those piles have been pushed out. Skiing on magic carpet should be greatly improved. The snow guns are going on the upper man made loop so look for additional trails to open in the coming days. Happy skiing!
