First ski at Hartley this year. Groomers did a great job with the new snow. The woods are fantastic and worth going at a slow speed just to enjoy a look-see at the woods covered in snow/ice. Couple of places where the groundwater/ice peep through the packed snow, but I don't think there's any reason to not use good skis. It's good snow coverage, yellow ice gave me the idea that it might be groundwater. Couple of places where there are low hanging branches that remind me that I haven't done any trail work yet this year -- an hour with a pair of hand-clippers would solve the branches/bushes in the way. We skied right past them today. Oldest child skied the trails backward, you know as you do when you are a teenager and refuse to read map/listen to parents. The rest of us enjoyed the late day sunlight - wishing we had gotten there 30 minutes earlier to enjoy the full sunset. Cold, but worth it.

Beautiful deep snow on all the trails. Not groomed, but there are a good set of skier laid tracks. One section has been walked in, but overall the skiing was mighty fun. It's hard to beat the scenery with the snow hanging in the trees today.
