Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

Great spring conditions. Fast frozen daiquiri snow. Coverage is still almost 100 percent; tracks still exist. Some pole plants plunged down to the earth's core.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Typical warm spring skiing- soft in spots but very skiable. A few melthrough patches on the inside edge but easily visible and avoidable. Tracks were nice, if softer on some corners (as they've been all season). Skate deck was probably better that the tracks in most spots. Some debris and some deep pole, paw, and boot prints throughout.

Really nice spring evening skate ski at Lester. Trail was soft and a bit slow but really good coverage despite the melting. Grooming was still in really good shape-thank you groomers! Tracks still largely looked very good, but a few bare spots. The hill behind the chalet is getting thin. Boot prints on the upper sections of the lit loops :(.

Groomed today. Rock-solid classic track. Some slightly softer spots but didn't slow the flow. Bright sun, comfy temperature and a very enjoyable ski.

Freshly groomed. Firm, fast, fun. A roaring wind was bringing down leaves, twigs, bark and pine needles.

Afternoon

Concrete with a light glaze, liberally seasoned with debris. I couldn't get any kick in the tracks on the uphills with my fish scales. My ski buddy with skins did better. We skipped J and L. Hoping the city regrooms for the weekend.

Fantastic conditions at Lester. Firm and fast skate deck, without icy terror! Classic tracks looked solid. The bottom two loops were groomed on Monday, but not the upper loops. Enjoy the spring skiing.

Firm and fast and surprisingly good conditions today. A thin film of ice had formed on top of the snow but in most places it had been skied away. Some debris but easy to avoid. Great skating conditions, not sure about the classic tracks.

Fast. Firm. The classic track is pretty glazed after today's warm-up, especially in open places where it got sun. Skate lane very firm.

The groomers continue to work their magic and conditions were fabulous early this morning; I skated and my wife skied classic. The skate deck was firm, fast and clean. The classic tracks were very good overall but a bit glazed from use and some debris present.
