Piedmont was fantastic today. Groomed yesterday. Firm and fast tracks. Tiny bit of new snow and very little detritus in the tracks. Awesome.

The groomer just finished at 2:30. It was perfect! No ice, no debris just beautiful trails and nice deep tracks. Thanks City of Duluth!

The Piedmont trails exceeded my expectations today: firm, fast tracks throughout; not icy in the least; only a little snowplowing damage on the big downhill. A few sections have scattered leaves in the tracks, but nothing major.

Trails were groomed since the rain. I expected icy conditions, but instead found a firm, fast track. A dusting of snow helped with the kick.

Conditions at Piedmont are great! Don't be fooled by the dirty snow right at the trailhead, everything else is fantastic. Tracks are firm and full depth throughout with only the occasional uphill that has succumbed to herringbone tracks. I saw one tiny spot where there is some ground showing through, but otherwise near-zero risk for bringing out your good skis.

Wow. Great ski. Trees covered in frost, fresh grooming, deep tracks, and fast skis. And a partridge in a willow tree. Perfect.

Skied everything around lunchtime today. The tracks were still in perfect condition after yesterday’s grooming—including all downhills.

Amazing classic conditions at Piedmont. Fresh groomed tracks today. Firm tracks, not super fast, no debris. EZ riding all the way.

The trails have seen a lot of use. Tracks are intact but washed out in places. Someone walked the big hill in the back and it is tricky to get down. Use caution! Enjoyable skiing but this trail system would benefit from grooming.

Another perfect day on the Piedmont trails. Tracks are well-set and firm. Thanks to the groomers! Lots of people were out mid-morning, welcoming the new year in the beautiful outdoor!
