Trail was re-groomed last night and in spectacular shape at 7AM. Nice wide, firm path with no ice. No spots to avoid. Classic tracks looked solid as well.

If you like a little ice with your snow, Hiawatha is the place to go. I double-poled a lot on both sets of skis. At dusk, the skating deck had the luminosity of Walter White's famous Sky Blue product.

Gorgeous conditions this morning for skate skiing. Classic trails looked nice, too. Wow! Get out there and enjoy the beautiful trails.
Major gratitude for the groomers.

Hiawatha was in great condition this afternoon. I am skiing again because the grooming at Hiawatha has been awesome. Thanks for the hard work, it’s much appreciated.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails look great. Set down fresh cord around 10pm and hopefully it will set up well overnight in the cold weather. The 4k, 2k and 1k loops are all open.

As others today have already reported how wonderful the conditions are, though, as the temps creep toward freezing, skating decks will soften. My true motivation for posting this comment is to give a big shout of gratitude for the excellent grooming, which is accommodating the various orientations to enjoying Hiawatha in winter.

Trails are functional and groomed! Warmer weather may make the snow weaker on the tracks, but it’s good enough for a beginner like me to have a great morning on the trails. Enjoy your skiing, and thanks groomers!

Thanks, groomers! It was the quality of a fancy Nordic Center this Saturday morning. Skijoring and off-leash dogs have really beaten up the main trail this season. I wonder if extra signs would help. Some people seem genuinely confused by what to do and where to go.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomers got out Friday night to clean things up! Nice wide skate deck with fresh cord all around. Also groomed the 1k loop, 2k loop, walking / skijouring trail, and the top area by the ski racks. Skate deck is really nice, tough a little bit soft; wish we could get a few real cold days to help with that. Classic tracks have been dropped on the full 4k ski loop, the 2k ski loop, as well as on the walking trail / skijouring trail so people can classic ski with their pups.
Ski classes will be happening early afternoon on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Fun to see all the kids learning to ski, but also a fair amount of traffic, so be aware.

Classic tracks are pretty much non-existent on almost half the trail, probably have been wind-swept. Hopefully groomers will make a new pass soon.
