Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Groomed Columbia today for skate only. The course suffered from yesterday's conditions. Grooming today was just base prep for snow forecast. You could ski the course today, but it's icy and rutted in sections from yesterday's traffic. Ski with caution. Approaching the clubhouse hill, I'd recommend walking around the narrow lower tee-box. Gravel has surfaced and there is too much to avoid. Let's hope we get our share of forecasted snow. We need it to keep Columbia skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed Columbia and set new tracks this morning. Northeast Middle School and the Loppet hosted youth races this today and the course is in good condition considering the thin base. The tracks are shallow to decent and should be pretty skiable. There are a few icy spots that should be easily avoidable. It's beautiful out today! Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Classic skied early afternoon. Tracks are shallow and washed out on corners but they do exist and are very skiable. They are also fast, which would be great if I were a strong double poler. Alas, I am not and I also got my kick wax wrong. Switched to my skins after the first lap and had a much more enjoyable ski.

Columbia was recently groomed and overall was in quite good condition. There were some bare spots that were easily seen and avoided. The skate deck is a bit icy in spots but isn't bad. Well worth skiing!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the conditions on the Columbia skate deck right now are great to excellent. I set new classic tracks tonight as well... Not as deep as I would've liked but not too shabby either. Nice coverage on the entire course, the only spot with minor grass showing is at the top of the steep clubhouse hill. If you stay north of the tracks you could use your best skis. If you venture out to Columbia on Wednesday you will be pleasantly surprised, guaranteed.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
We attempted to ski in the classic tracks but they were practically buried by drifting snow due to the extremely windy conditions this afternoon. We gave up! We'll l try again later this week, assuming it will be groomed and less windy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Rumor has it that Columbia is the perfect loop for your pre-Birkie taper. You can rest your legs on the mostly flat to rolling terrain that Columbia has to offer. The fresh snow has made for great skiing. The skate deck is in excellent shape, and the classic track is shallow but in fair condition. Ski Columbia! Finished grooming at about 10 pm tonight.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just groomed Columbia and it looks great. It still will have a few icy spots under the fresh snow, but very skiable. Classic tracks are thin to excellent, but also very skiable. We are back in business at Columbia! Enjoy!

Packed in the new snow we got this evening. The skate deck looks great. Due to an equipment problem I wasn't able to set new tracks, but the existing ones were still visible, and I think this fluffy snow will pack down nicely for the first classic skier. It should be pretty good skiing tomorrow at Columbia.

Grooming

Groomed Columbia this morning. Wasn't able to use the teeth for the last 3/4 lap, but it looks pretty good. The two pictures are the best and worst of the course. It's going to be fast at Columbia, but I'm sure you'll hold your edge. Left classic alone. Enjoy Columbia today!
