Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Lino Lakes avoided most of the rain last night. There is a 1/2 inch of fresh snow on the trails this morning. Made the trails soft and the skiing slow. Good day to slow down and watch the deer. And dream about fresh wax on my skis:).

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skated both the north and south sections of trail from the club house tonight, and it was great skiing! A little soft in a couple spots as the groomer wrote earlier, but setting up nicely making for really nice conditions. The classic tracks appeared fresh, and I intend to check them out tomorrow. Thank you groomers!

All trails combed and tracked. Skate deck in very good condition--a bit soft now but setting up fast. Classic track in very good condition. Overall, best conditions of the year to this point.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails rolled today in preparation for combing and tracking Sunday. Where not windblown and drifted, trails offer a decent skate experience now, and should comb out very nice tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle

Skate deck within the golf course was well maintained, hard packed and icy in spots but passable. Skate deck in the woods was covered in leaves and twigs making it tough going.

Skied the south loop in the classic track. Had to take skis off and walk a number of times. Conditions quite poor.

Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skated the north and south loops at Chomonix - good snow coverage throughout as far as I could tell using a headlamp. The snow on the north loop was hard and icy, especially in the wooded, multi-use sections. Also played in the ungroomed snow a bit adjacent the north loop trail following the lead of the one other pair of skaters I saw, and that was good in comparison. The southern loop snow was just a touch softer and more enjoyable. A nice night for a ski considering the recent day/night temperatures.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Combed and tracked today. Skate deck in good condition. Considering thin, icy base, classic track in pretty good condition. With low temps to set, good conditions should hold for a few days.
