Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skating deck was refreshed this morning. The classic track was still in pretty good shape so it was left as is. 37 degrees at the time of writing this report. The snow was already starting to soften.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were in great shape. The snow had set up in the cold and was firm by this afternoon. Our kids loved the nature center too. Hard to beat great skiing, snapping turtles, fish, and snakes all in one scenic stop!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Grooming completed this morning after a 1.5" snowfall last night. Trails are in good condition other than occasional leaves from recent high winds in some areas. The recent snow has not had time to set up completely but the base is solid. Classic track set throughout.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
It is a beautiful day to get out and ski! The coverage is excellent, but there are a lot of twigs and sticks on the trails as a result of recent high winds—hence the recommendation to use B skis. There are essentially no machine-set classic tracks, perhaps as a result of the wind. I mostly did clockwise laps on the 1 km loop closest to the Quarry Hill Nature Center (see attached screenshot). There is a shoulder of soft snow over about 50% of this loop and a skier-set track has been set on this shoulder. If you classic ski this loop clockwise, you will spend a lot more time in the track than out of the track, because most of the part of the trail that has a track is uphill. I was able to get good glide when I could see in the track. Outside of the track, it is pretty slow because of the very cold temperature. The other advantage of skiing the 1 km loop is that the trees provide very good protection from the cold wind over most of the track.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied at QH this morning. The new snow made for slow but smooth skiing. Trails are in excellent shape for both skate and classic. Can use ood skis with no risk of damage. Grooming plans: trails will be groomed again after Wednesday.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All the trails except for the west ball field were groomed last night and a classic track was set. The west ball field was rolled and packed this morning but no classic track was set. Trail conditions are excellent.

Afternoon
Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
I checked how well the trail has held up, with today's above-freezing temperatures, while on a walk at Quarry Hill this afternoon. The trail is still in mostly good shape today, as can be seen from the pictures. There is also a skier-set classic track on parts of the trail.
