After a lot of grooming lately, I finally got out on the Forest Springs 16k of trails today. The scenery is spectacular and the trails are in excellent shape! Kind of soft and slow, especially for skating, but pretty good for striding. Very clean (no sticks or leaves in tracks) and no problems with soft pole plants. I probably will groom again after we a get another couple inches of snow.

We got another 5" snow overnight so I just rolled the 16k of trails this morning. With the LMC groom yesterday, it is skiable now. Grooming plans: I plan to groom and set tracks tonight.

Grooming plans: Ira will be out on the trails with the LMC on Tuesday morning, packing and grooming for skating (it does not have a tracksetter). My plan for setting tracks with the Sherpa and Ginzu is to wait until Wednesday, after possible additional snow on Tuesday night.

Trail grooming news: We got all 11 loops packed/rolled this morning, just barely making it up the bigger hills. Then, while grooming this evening, the fan switch on the snowmobile basically broke; no fan action means an overheated engine soon, so I had to quit grooming. The four "Easiest" trails are done but everything else is just rolled until we get the problem fixed.

Best skiing conditions of this winter, with firm skate lanes, very good tracks; finally felt like my skis were actually pretty fast. Of course it won't last, with more snow coming. I will be grooming on Thursday. Stop by and try it out, maybe on your way home after the Korte/Birkie. Just 4 miles off hwy 13, north of Medford.

We groomed everything this morning, turned out excellent but still kind of soft, especially on the pole plants on outside of the tracks. Then they were skied on pretty heavily and we had a few walkers on the trails, so I groomed all the skate lanes and some tracks again tonight. It cleaned up nicely and should make for some great skiing conditions on Sunday!

After the 14" snowfall, it was a lot of work, but good news - all 11 trails are packed and 4 trails are groomed and in soft but excellent condition. Come out and see for yourself.

We rolled/packed, then groomed trails this afternoon. Excellent conditions,full-depth tracks and nice corduroy. I skied, classic, later - it was quite slow since the snow was so dry/cold, but that should improve by Saturday afternoon. The Rib Lake trail system was also groomed today.
