Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I strided the 17k of trails this afternoon. After a Sunday afternoon groom, the tracks are firm and fast. Skate lane looks great but a little thin here and there. Should be great conditions for the Hinderbinder race on Saturday!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were all groomed with PB and are in excellent shape. The corduroy is beautiful but slow (too cold for good glide). Tracks were firm, with good glide.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skated some of the trails today. Everything was groomed this morning. The snow was very cold and dry, so glide was not great, but the skate lane was firm and beautiful. Classic tracks were excellent.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Adam groomed all of the loops Wednesday evening. Six inches of new snow was sorely needed. Looks great for skate and classic skiing!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We skate skied from Forest Springs Camo onto Rib Lake trails. There was an excellent track where it was set but the snow is too shallow in many places. The Rib Lake trails were groomed but soft and uneven, some boot and snowshoe tracks. We returned to Forest Springs and found very good Pisten Bully skate lane. B skis are recommended since I hit a rock that made me face plant. B skis are now B-.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I strided all of the loops this afternoon. All 17km are groomed and open and looking great. I used good skis and ended up putting one minor scratch in a ski base, hence the B ski recommendation. There were classic tracks set on about half of the trails - Adam thought the snow base was a little too thin (but the tracks I saw were fine). So skating probably would have been better - the corduroy looks great.

Adam groomed Tuesday and I was the first on the corduroy! Excellent conditions. North of rustic road, only Jammer was groomed which I skated twice. Some exposed grass but not bad. Snow itself was softer and slower, but I prefer those conditions early in the season. Took the family out on Kicker/Gaiter in the afternoon and it was very nice. Classic tracks aren’t down everywhere yet. Thanks a million to the crew.

Afternoon
Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All ]
All of the trails have been walked, tree branches and sticks all raked off, so the trails are clean and now covered with 3" new snow, so it's skiable (B skis or rock skis) but not groomed yet. Adam plans to groom again on Dec 28 or 29.

Morning
Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
The storm, with 60+mph winds, brought lots of branches and several trees down overnight, so the trails are closed until we get a crew together to walk trails and clean them up, starting tomorrow. The snow depth actually looks pretty good but it is icy and needs more snow before we can be open for skiing again.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After getting a foot of an new snow, Adam groomed all of the loops, 17km, with the Pisten Bully, looking fantastic. I skied 10km today, with mixed results. The outside edges, where the PB tracks smacked the snow down, were pretty firm but the middle of the trail was soft. So it was very good for striding but not so good for skating. The snow base was plenty deep enough for good skis.
