Trail Reports

2019-2020 season
Reports 13 to 22 of 30    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec | Nov

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were all groomed beautifully with a little dusting of fresh snow. I feel bad for the groomer as some inconsiderate individuals decided to snow shoe all over the trail. I love to snowshoe too but do it in the woods and would never ruin a freshly groomed trail. The classic track were still good and skiing was delightful!

After spending some extra time rolling and knocking down drifts, all trails are now packed and tracked. Conditions should be excellent.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails are packed and tracked. Exception: trails in the SW corner are rolled, the classic tracks were left alone and are skiable. Hoping to groom this tonight so it firms up before the next round of snow.

Grooming

We scratched up the skate deck on Friday night and it’s in good shape. This removed many of the leaves. Not seeing any major bare spots, so the snow survived last week’s warm ups. Classic tracks are firm and fast (a bit icy) and filled with leaves in the wooded areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Reports are that there are a lot of leaves down in the wooded areas and trails are icy. We will wait until after the warm-up tomorrow to give the trails a refresh, planning to do that Friday night. Stay tuned for a grooming report, but trails should be in good shape for the weekend.

Trails are groomed and tracked. One section of the upper hollow needs to be tracked, and will get to that today. Looks good out there.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
The trails have held up (so far) despite the warm temps. However, with the low temps staying above freezing, we would like to ask people to stay off the trails until we get below freezing again. Thanks! Fingers crossed for some snow.

Fantastic conditions. Near pristine corduroy and flawless tracks today. 'Hidden Gem' seems overused, so I'll call this an obscure jewel of the East metro. Kudos to the grooming team for a great day on the trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Our machine is up and running. All trails are groomed and classic tracks set. A couple trails are too narrow for skate and classic tracks so they are groomed for classic only. We are working on posting maps and other signage on the trail, but for now if there is a track set right down the middle=classic only. Couple of avoidable thin spots, but I'm still using good skis.

Grooming

We got about 80% done Friday night and one of our rear tracks broke. If you are skiing the main loop on the east side of the system, watch out for the groomer because it's still on the trail. Unsure how long the fix will take.
The trails that we groomed and tracked are in great shape. This includes the north meadow and central meadow (skate and classic), classic only in the upper hollow, classic only on the eastside trail. We made one pass on the skate lane of the main loop and started the tracksetting loop when the machine broke. The trails that we didn't get to (lower hollow, southwest meadow and post trail) are in good shape, just a couple inches of fluff on top of previous grooming.
