Pioneer Creek Trails run through the scenic Vilas County Forest. Trail location is in the Conover Town Park, 1/4 mile east of U.S. 45 on the south side of County Hwy K. Amenities include a heated restroom.Trail Reports

I skied the whole 18 KM today at Pioneer Creek as it was the first time there for me. Huge trail system and it was totally groomed and combed. No tracks yet set except by skier traffic. Beautiful complex there at Conover Park with outdoor skating rink and snowmobile parking and small sledding hill.

It's a little thin, but immaculately rolled. I had the wonderful opportunity to break track on over 6km of the North Loop. Conditions were sublime, considering we have only about 7" of snow on the ground! With heated flush toilets, a location only a couple of hundred yards from a US Highway, and some truly beautiful white pines, it continues to amaze me that more people don't ski here. Thanks, everyone! Don't fight the crowds, and declining conditions....you deserve better. You deserve Conover!
