Tracks were in great condition early this afternoon. Appeared to be set recently. Snow a bit slick for my skin skis. Made it over west of Pilot Knob for the first time - there are a couple of serious hills over there! Overall a great day at Lebanon - and Brick Oven Pizza at the trailhead!

Was surprised to find the trails freshly groomed this morning. I was pulling a Burley and found both kick and glide pretty easy.

Skied the outside loop on east side of pilot, during the height of the snow storm. A lot of snow accumulating in the tracks, making the skiing fairly slow. I could get grip on my skin skis if I kept the tempo low. There was a lot of wildlife about: Dozens of deer, and my wife saw a pair of foxes. Some walkers had been intentionally stepping in the tracks. This years signage has led to a reduction in walkers, but it could still be a lot better.

Skied the outer loop from Holland Lake. Tracks present throughout, shallow in spots and washed out here and there on sidehills and curves. Intersections and hills were skied smooth but not icy. Conditions were a bit slow with the fresh snow. A bit sticky on the south part of the loop where the snow hadn't been skied in as much. All in all, pretty good conditions.

Classic tracks were in excellent condition! I skied most of the trails (11.9 miles) from the Schulze Lake trailhead, including the loop west of Pilot Knob Rd. The trails had been groomed yesterday, and about half an inch of fresh snow had fallen on them in the middle of the day today. They were just a little icy under the pines .25 mi east of the trailhead. Otherwise no significant ice and very little leaf debris in the tracks. Most of the leaves that were in the tracks had warmed up the snow and sunk down below the level of the tracks so they didn't touch the skis. Only one short (~12") patch of exposed dirt in one track. Temp was about 34°F, cloudy, no wind, and very light snow falling intermittently. I was skiing on my Rossignol Delta Comp R skin skin skis. It was helpful to move the switch bindings to the rear-most position for best glide on the thin coat of new snow. Kick was still great. Thanks to the groomers for doing a great job Tuesday.

My wife classic skied the east section last night and reported that the trails were getting icy/watery in places but overall still in good condition and provided a good ski.

Skied central section (between Johnny Cake and Pilot Knob). Great glide - very little kick (skin skis). Took less time than usual on account of the extremely fast descents. Haven't fallen this much on skis since I was a kid. Had to walk the big descent near Pilot Knob. Tracks were in great shape.

Started at 12:30 pm on beautiful sunny day. Tracks were in much better shape than I expected but speed varied considerably depending on amount of sun exposure. Probably would have been a bit faster a few hours earlier. Did 8.5 miles on the east side and really enjoyed it. Groomers did a great job in getting trail back into good shape.

I skied the eastern section of Lebanon Hills Park this morning and was happy to find the it recently packed and tracked with firm tracks. I started at the Visitor Center skiing east on the eastern most loop then through the pines along Marsh Lake. Next I continued south then west through the equestrian area proceeding to marker 7 by Jensen Lake where I turned east to return to the Visitor Center along the northern trails. I enjoyed the firm tracks and fast ski conditions especially on the hill at marker 11 as well as the biggest hill between markers 36 and 40 which I enjoyed so much that I went back west at 40 to marker 32 returning along the central trails. By the time I finished ski tracks were starting to get soft in sunny areas. And of, oak leaves in the woods.

Freshly groomed today and fast! I set a personal record on the outside loop. There are still a few leaves about but not too bad. Only is a few places did the tracks get down to hard Ice. Mostly the grooves were quite crisp. Great job groomers!
