The skate deck for the Silver and Bronze trails were groomed this morning. The classic track is well defined despite a bit of fill from yesterday's snow.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good conditions on Silver and Gold Trails with fresh snow falling which made it a little slower, but who can complain about more snow. The skate deck looked solid and the grooming spectacular as usual for Battle Creek. Great night to get out!

Grooming

Groomed the Bronze and Silver trails including setting track where snow was deep enough. These trails are in mostly good to excellent condition. The stadium is thin and the are a couple of easily avoided bare spots coming out of the stadium. Classic tracks on the prairie are shallow, but going into the woods (starting with the long climb to the woods) the tracks are deeper, and the tracks are well formed for maybe 30% of the woods portion of Silver. Skate deck is in good shape.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed Ski Games this morning and a portion of Gold and reset the classic track. Good snow coverage for most of this trail area. Cold but sunny and calm conditions prevail.

The skate deck was packed down but I could still maintain a good edge. A few areas a bit icy though. Classic track still looks in good shape with the usual worn areas. Only a few brave souls out today.

Trails were in great shape, freshly groomed with classic tracks set. I didn't check out the Ski Games or the WC, as I was trying to stay in the woods and avoid long (cold) downhills, but I skied Silver and Bronze a few times, and it was a lovely morning at Battle Creek.

Absolutely incredible conditions at Battle Creek on Saturday morning. Surely doesn't get much better than this. I don't think I've ever seen such a wide, flat, firm skate lane here - almost as if there was a Pisten Bully nearby. Thank you, groomers! Classic tracks were thin but present throughout. Some tree litter, but pretty clean snow given how little of it we have. Good skis would be just fine in the daylight.

Skating lane on the Gold and Ski Games trails reset. Existing classic tracks still in decent shape. Overall conditions at Battle Creek are quite good. Also set a short loop soon the ballfields.

I was the first person to ski the Ski Games trails today. It wasn't groomed today, but the classic tracks are in great shape - firm tracks and no leaves. It was sandpaper slow snow for the first lap, but it improved when other people showed up and helped ski it in. I love this gently rolling trail!

The Bronze and Silver trails were groomed this morning. The classic track was reset and the skate deck looks to be in good shape. A few thin spots still persist. The little bit of snow we received last night seemed to brighten the trails up quite a bit.
