[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The natural snow Silver, Gold and Ski Games trails have been rolled to build a base for skiing. They have mostly good coverage, the exceptions being two wind-blown bare spots on Ski Games (one small and one large), and some weeds sticking thru the snow thinly, at a number of places. The full length of the trail has been rolled, and is marginally skiable - final grooming has not yet been completed.

Excellent skiing at Battle Creek today. Tracks were firm and deep. Skate deck looked great. Only the loop around the lake is groomed but the snow guns deeper in the park were busy. January conditions in November! Thanks to the governmental bodies (state, county, and city, I think), the taxpayers, Ahvo, and everyone else involved for bringing snow-making to the east metro.

Skied the 500m loop at BC West last night at 5PM after the snow ended and as well as noon today. The groomer had the Piston Bully out at 6PM last night working in the fresh snow. Today, the snow guns were out south of the loop cranking away; there appeared to be a good amount of snow piling up. ( Right now there is a 500m loop open but from observation it appears much more is about to open). The skate deck was firm, with a few soft areas due to snow drifts as expected - still very fun and pretty fast. It is wonderful having manufactured snow and Piston Bully grooming in the East Metro. Thanks to the grooming staff and everyone that made this possible!

Great conditions on the 500m snow making loop at Battle Creek this morning. Freshly groomed and lights on at 5:50am. Tracks were getting a bit slower as the snow started coming down around 7, but still awesome.

Was pleasantly surprised to find the lights on at 5:30 as the website only talks about evening. The groomer came out about 6, conditions great for skate. As far as classic, looked icy but ok coverage, hopefully grooming it's great for that as well. So happy to have snowmaking in the east!

Battle Creek was amazing this morning. The loop is short, and there's not much vertical, but the tracks and skate deck were freshly groomed.

Stop 1 of 4 in the Twin Cities snowmaking tour: Hit the trails around 9:30 am. Found good coverage and a nice loop around the pond next to the parking lot. No issues with parking, only 10-15 cars. A classic double track set for nearly the entire loop. But the skate deck didn't appear to have been groomed this morning, and was quite hardpack/icy. Ended up riding the classic track through some of the slippery sections. Great to have this venue on the east side, look forward to skiing it later this winter under better conditions!

We had a group out enjoying the new snowmaking loop around the pond (about 800m long). Great to have this on the east side. The loop has two small hills. There was a bit of dirt showing through on the side of the second one that is easily avoidable.

Had a great ski on the new artificial snow loop at Battle Creek this afternoon. Had nice corduroy and really enjoyed the new loop. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this happen!

It's a beautiful day in Ramsey County. The first loop of machine-made snow is open to the public! The loop around the pond (approx 800m) has substantial snow and is open to classic (two sets of tracks) and skate skiers. All-Access ski passes are now required to use the trails, to find more info go to ramseycounty.us/ski. Happy skiing on the first machine made snow loop in the east metro!
