Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Skied mid-morning, found good skiing conditions with plenty of coverage and plenty of other skiers out. Snow was holding up well, not too soft or sugary yet. Groomers were out pushing snow piles on other parts of the trails, but no new segments open yet.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Great conditions at Elm today. The snow was perfect in the late afternoon, even though it was around 40 degrees. Quite a few people out, but not too crazy. Lots of high schoolers zipping by. The classic tracks looked solid all the way around, which at the moment is from the upper donut through the practice area. Looks like the next section to the start of the lower donut and back up the hill is almost ready to go, but it wasn't open yet.

Observation Secondhand
I talked to the park ranger and he said the trails are closed until the weekend. I was surprised because they made a lot of snow in the last 36 hours. It looks to me like they are trying to make enough snow to open the entire loop although that is just my observation.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
Snow making continues. Although the new snow has been moved around, grooming was not complete and therefore not skiable.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
I counted 12 guns going on the XC loop with one or two going on the other half of the man-made snow loop. There were also a couple of guns going on the alpine/tubing area. Closed today but it will be better when it re-opens. Colder night time temps this week should help.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Not nearly as good as yesterday at the same time. Hills were already turning to sugar as it didn't get cold enough last night. Great day to work on double poling techniques as I couldn't get any grip with the classic skis.

Pretty nice. About 1 kilometer open. Getting sugary on the uphills and a little bobsled groove going downhill ( the donut? Bagel? Mini loop?).

The loop is open and in great condition. Used rex silver klister and it worked pretty good with the exception of the hill at the northern end. Each loop is roughly 1.25k.
