A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

Skated during the snowfall. Trails were pretty good but with the new snow things were changing rapidly. The snow was a nice consistency and will probably set up well into the warming temps.

Great looking skating deck. But the classical tracks I would have to give only a “fair” rating, good in a few spots but even poor and washed out in many others. While skating looked regroomed very recently, I guess they just don’t have enough snow to do much with the classical tracks. Still, a nice afternoon to be out!

Great skate conditions this afternoon. Very firm and fast skate deck, but still enough grip Lots of available corduroy at 1pm. French has some of the best grooming IMO -- it seems that all trails groomed every morning. A few leaves and sticks here and there, but pretty easy to miss. Classic tracks appeared pretty thin in spots. Kudos to the groomers!

Super solid skate deck and Tracks looked great as well. Got there around 4 pm and there was still plenty of corduroy to go around. Probably the best conditions we've seen this year at French so far. Some debris on the trail but easily avoidable. I was able to use my race skis with confidence of having no damage. Only thing to say is to be careful of the downhill after challenge hill, the turn is still pretty icy.

Classic skied all but the Lagoon trail. Classic tracks were in excellent condition. It appeared that most if not all of the trails had been groomed within the previous 24 hours. No ice or bare spots on any of the trails and very few leaves/bark/sticks.

Classic skied French mid-afternoon and would have to say generally fair. The Challenge Trail had pretty good tracks but some of the open areas were washed out and wind-blown, although no bare spots and minimal debris. Skate deck looked very good. Still, it was beautiful on a sunny afternoon and wind not too bad except in that open NW loop.

Doesn't get better than this if you enjoy colder snow. Beautifully groomed squeaky corduroy. I didn't take a good look at the tracks though.

My first ski at French in possibly 20 years? Not many skiers out in the cold and wind. Trails in great shape - classic track washed out in a few spots, but to be expected given how little snow we have had. Skate deck had full coverage and downhills were not icy anywhere that I found. Rode Special Green kicked well at -1F.

Skated all the trails except Meadow. Trails were in great condition, except for a lot of tree debris and two small spots on curved downhills where it seemed like the snow was wearing thin due to plowing. Overall a lot of fun. I used good skis without concern or regret but B skis might not be a bad idea if you want to be on the safe side.

Skied all the loops except the meadow trail. Tracks are shallow and frequently washed out, especially on the outside ski, where the track seems a bit close to the edge, causing skiers to sink/slide off. Skate conditions looked good throughout, with a few thin/dirty spots. There is plenty of coverage and I was comfortable using my good skis.
