A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

Attempted a classic ski using the wooden skis. Abandoned it after about 30 min. Lots of dirt, grass and asphalt showing in places. The track was pretty much intact but it was super icy. Good time to work on double poling since I wasn't getting much kick. Skate deck was down to ice as well in places.

Still finding rocks at French. Not to fault the grooming. I found fresh corduroy and tracks set through dirt, but I caught the guy out there shoveling snow onto the trail. Those spots were clear and avoided easily, so I’m sure you can get through in good skis. Not me.

Skate skied all trails except Lagoon in the early afternoon and found them in great shape. Good coverage despite the lack of new snow. Organic material starting to work through in a few spots, but base was firm and fast. Thank you to the groomers who were out in the afternoon giving them another pass.

Didn't see any bare spots or debris. Some spots starting to be a bit icy. Classic tracks in decent condition, but some spots they are gone. Did not have to step out of the tracks due to bare spots or debris at all. Lights do turn off at 10pm as advertised.

French was surprisingly great tonight. It appears they reset the tracks since I was there over a week ago and they are a little farther to the right. Good pole plants. So fun to do an evening ski. Beautiful hoar frost still on the trees and no other skiers. The tracks are super hard packed and very good. Just a couple dirt spots that you can easily avoid. Rex liquid base klister(primarily for my manmade snow) plus a couple layers of swim extra blue, short wax pocket. Great kick.

Drove to French Park after skiing Baker. Pretty decent conditions at French. Tracks are washed out in places and there is some grass poking through at busy spots. Like Baker, there was lots of activity as folks are enjoying a relatively mild winter weekend.

Skied mid-afternoon, founds lots of cars in the lot but not crowded on the trails. Trails were still in amazing shape when you consider how long it's been since a fresh snowfall! Skied pretty much all the loops, including the Lagoon trail. Evidence of recent shoveling and some of the thin spots I had previously encountered have been filled in. Classic tracks looked OK, a little washed out. Hoar frost everywhere, seems like we are in Groundhogs Day (every day is the same weather, same conditions!).

A cold frosty day. Good coverage overall. Speedy conditions. Thank you to the gentleman shoveling snow on thin spots.

Classic skied all trails except Lagoon. Due to the thin layer of freezing fog on the tracks, conditions seemed a bit better than earlier in the week. Good coverage, no rocks or ice that I saw. There were scattered thin and dirty spots in the tracks (at least there are tracks!) and on the skate lane, easily avoidable. Well worth the drive from the South Metro for improved conditions. Think snow!

Great morning out at French (started at 7:45). Classic skied everything but Lagoon, snow still in decent shape but more and more leaves and small sticks appearing - easy to step out of the tracks when they appear. Tracks were largely intact but not perfect with a little bit of glazing starting to appear. The groomer was tidying up the skate deck while I was out, which looked really good minus a couple problem areas. Thank you French Park Groomers!
