A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skated all the trails. Excellent condition: all of them were well-groomed, great base, no ice, little debris, best conditions I've seen all season on any trails. My only regret is not using my better skis. Took notice of the tracks; they seemed ok, plenty of snow, although many sections were very shallow.

Trails were in surprisingly good condition. Everything was well covered, including the bottom of challenge hill. B skis due to tree debris on just about every trail. Lagoon had the most debris, per usual.

Skied around 9:30 am. Snow getting softer, slower but still OK. Not too much debris but B skis recommended.

Skied at 3 pm. Trails are in much better shape than I expected, very nice grooming job almost intact since not a lot of skiers with these temperatures. Snow is packed, not too fast due to temperature, very few icy spots here and there, downhill parts are not icy so no risk of fall there. Sunny afternoon without wind, so very enjoyable.

Night

Very slow snow, but grooming helped and snow was added to some trouble areas. There are some small rocks on the uphill near the chalet, but everything on the west side is in better condition than I expected and little to no icy spots. I used B skis.

The trail conditions were quite good this morning and groomed very well, with a handful of icy and thin spots here and there that are hardly worth mentioning here. Clifton E. French Regional Park is a real gem, and few things are better than a long winter ski with a good friend.

Really nice skate conditions at French this morning. A few small icy spots and a bit of tree debris, but otherwise nice firm deck with recent grooming to give you an edge. Lots of classic skiers out. The classic track looked shallow and worn due to lack of snow.

Snow is getting faster, more icy spots and more leaves debris on trails but still good conditions for skate. Probably need more snow to prevent further degradation.

Overall still good conditions for skate, a few icy spots though, good sunny morning ski. Not too much debris, good glide.

Classic tracks were in fair condition. There was a decent amount of debris down, and some areas where the tracks were washed out. But where the tracks were good, the skiing was excellent. As always, I wish the groomers wouldn't set the track so far out to the edge. Dodging branches and bushes isn't much fun.
