  Scenic trails with a diverse topography. Recreation shelter and restrooms. Maintained by Antigo Bike and Ski Club.

  A series of six loops designed to be an easy family-style ski area, with 1 loop designed specifically for the expert. 
Appleton 3  Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve    15K     920-731-604
  Groomed classic, five trails are available. There are also trails for snowshoeing.  
Appleton 4  Reid Golf Course    3K    
  Mainly flat with a few rollers. For 2012-2013 season there is constuction of two detention ponds on the course so the length will be reduced to one mile (stay out of the construction zone). 
Arbor Vitae 5  Madeline Lake Trail    15km     715-385-3355 x121
  This trail has a variety of scenery as it winds around three lakes and through different types of terrain. It has a few rolling hills. Most of the trail follows old logging roads. This is an excellent trail for skiers of all abilities. There is a shelter located on the trail with a fire ring. 
Boulder Junction 6  Escanaba Trail    20km     715-385-3355 x121
  This trail is very hilly, rolling and scenic. It winds around five different lakes, through stands of maple, aspen and balsam. There are a couple fairly steep hills requiring intermediate skiing skills. A shelter with a fire ring is located on the trail. 
Combined Locks 7  Combined Locks Trail    5K    
  Beautiful area but lots of walkers. Located at Memorial Park, use the parking area located at the bottom of the sledding hill just south of Wallace Street on Park Street. 
Crivitz 8  Governor Thompson State Park    5km     715-757-3979
  A double loop system with two entry/exit points containing a one mile and 2 mile loop sections. Terrain has moderate hill on entry and exits, and rolling and flat sections in the loops. Wide stake lanes, with trail sections up to 25 ft in width. 
Crivitz 9  Spring Rapids Trail    9K     715-757-3965
  Located in the Peshtigo River State Forest, the Spring Rapids Trail System is 5 miles west of Crivitz on County Road W to Kirby Lake Lane. Features some steep hills and breathtaking views along the Peshtigo River. 
Eagle River 10  Anvil National Recreation Trail    20k     715-479-2827
  Forested terrain varies from mostly level (West Trail, East Trail) to rolling hills (Ninemile Trail, Lake Loop) to hilly (Devil's Run). Chickadees waiting to eat birdseed from your hand at the warming shelter. Toilets are available at the parking area and warming shelter.

  Part of the Lake Forest Recreation Area Golf Course. 
Eagle River 12  Nicolet North Trail    25k     715-479-2827
  Forested terrain varies from nearly level (Ash Meadow, Camp 22) to mostly rolling (Roller Coaster Run, The Gulch, Pat Shay Trail, Narrow Gauge Loop) to several scattered hills. This trail connects with the Anvil National Recreation Trail.

  This trail is maintained by the Nordmarka Ski Club of Eagle River. 
Eagle River 14  Three Eagle Trail    8km    
  The trail is about 8km long and traverses a bridge and two boardwalks. It traverses wetlands, woodlands, and crosses a stream in flat to gently rolling easy terrain. There is a parking lot for skiers at the north end of the trail on Sundstein Road. 
Elcho 15  Moccasin Ski Trail    10km    
  The trail weaves its course through ever changing scenery dominated by maples, then birch, pine and hemlock. It oversees two river basins: the Prairie flowing west and Hunting flowing east.

  Rolling trails through evergreen and hardwood forests, wetlands, and upland meadows along Lake Michigan. 26.3 miles of trails are available for cross-country skiing, including, 12.5 miles groomed and tracked for classical skiing and 2 miles groomed for skate skiing, 
Fern 17  Halls Creek Trail    11k    
  The trail consists of varied landscapes with frequent short hill climbs and descents. It accommodates beginner to intermediate skiing skills.

  Roughly 16 miles of classical tracks with six miles also groomed for skating.

  Trails from beginner to intermediate. Nice Adirondack-style shelter. Connects with Perch Trail. 
Green Bay 20  Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve    15K     920-448-4466
  Fairly flat terrain through forests, meadows and wetlands.  
Green Bay 21  Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary    10K     920-391-3671
  The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is an urban wildlife refuge where people and animals can come together for mutual benefits. 
Green Bay 22  He-Nis-Ra Park    4K    
  A natural wooded park within the city limits of Green Bay. The terrain is moderately hilly with hardwood forested hills and a wetlands area in the middle of the park.

  Trails are located a few miles outside of Green Bay and are rated from easy to advanced with challenging hills.

  Located along the Baird Creek Parkway, there are nearly 4K of classical only trails. Also known locally as Bairds Creek.

  Open to the public on weekends and some weekday evenings (fee). They have over 6K of lighted trails. 
Irma 27  Underdown Recreation Area    33K    
  Recreation area includes dozens of small lakes and ponds. Trail system contains of three loops: blue, red and green segments. They may additionally groom Loop Road for skating.  
Kimberly 28  Kimberly High School Trails    2K    
  Roughly a quarter of the trails roll through the woods with two decent climbs. Use the back parking lot for skiing at the high school or during school hours please park in the church parking lot. 
Lake Tomahawk 29  McNaughton Lake Trail    17km     715-385-3355 x121
  Mcnaughton Lake Trail follows old logging roads around three lakes and has very few steep hills. It is very scenic and an excellent trail for a beginner. A five and a half mile loop is groomed for skating. There is a shelter with a fire ring on the trail.

  The Lakewood Ski Trail winds through beautiful, wooded settings with rolling hills.  
Langlade 31  Kettlebowl Ski Trail    4.5km    
  The trail weaves its course through changing scenery of primarily Northern Hardwood and Aspen forest types, which are typical of Langlade County. The topography includes high ridges and rolling hills. 
Langlade 32  Maranatha Ski Trail    4mi    
  Located in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, this trail system offers four interconnected loops, rated moderate to difficult. Maintained by the privately-run Silver Birch Ranch. Parking along south side of Sawyer Lake Rd. 
Manitowish Waters 33  North Lakeland Discovery Center    19km     877-543-2085
  The terrain is gentle and winds through the woods, along the lake, bog and nearby Manitowish River. There is also a warming/changing room with free hot apple cider and cookies. Trails are maintained by volunteers at the Discovery Center. 
Minocqua 34  Minocqua Winter Park Nordic Center    75k     715-356-3309
  PistenBully groomed trails (with 12 km groomed for classic-only), 2 km lighted, and 15km of ungroomed backcountry ski trails. Glaciated terrain provides for a wide range of beginner to expert level trails and a telemark slope. On-site amenities include a chalet with PSIA certified ski school & ski shop, food service, and a heated waxing room. 
Minocqua 35  Schlecht Lake    10K    
  Rolling loops between and around two lakes. 2.5K are lighted. Located just off Leary Road, 1.5 miles south of downtown Minocqua off Hwy 51.  
Neenah 36  Bridgewood Resort    4.4K    
  Rolling hills on the Bridgewood golf course, groomed for skate skiing primarily. 
Niagara 37  Riverside Trail    17K     715-251-3235
  Niagara's Riverside Trails borders the Menominee River in Niagara Wisconsin. Beautiful woods, wetlands and river valley. Many intersecting trails allow short loops, long loops and a good variety of terrain.  
Oconto Falls 38  Machickanee    12km    
  The trails lead through forests over topography ranging from creek bottoms to ridge tops. Numerous hills and curves of various slopes and lengths make this course a challenge for the intermediate to advanced skiers. There is also a beginners loop for all ability levels.

  Afterglow Ski Trails are groomed for skate and classic 5-7 times a week with a Tidd Tech G2. The full width groomed trails are protected by a thick mixed hardwood forest with trees right to the trails edge. A large heated warm up room is perfect to wait for the diehards in your group. UP snowbelt for reliable snow.

  The trail is groomed for tracked skiing only. There is two way traffic so please keep to the right. 
Rhinelander 41  CAVOC Trails    8K    
  Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom trails, known more as CAVOC. Advanced beginner to expert, hilly terrain, rarely any flat terrain. 
Rhinelander 42  Northwood Golf Course    14K    
  The trails traverse through a gently rolling forested area adjacent to the golf course with a small portion of the trails on golf course property. The trails are well suited for beginner to intermediate skiers with a one-kilometer skate trail on steep hills for the adventurous expert skier. Trailhead is at the golf course driving range. 
Rhinelander 43  Nose Lake Ski Trail    13km     715-369-6140
  Two main loops, groomed classic only. Dogs are allowed on the trail but must be kept under control at all times. 
Sayner 44  Razorback Ridges Trail    20k     715-542-3501
  Mixed forest and open field terrain varies from nearly level to mostly hilly with several scattered hills. All 18 trail segments are groomed and only 2 segments groomed exclusively for classical. McKay's Corner Store, located at the trailhead, offers warming shelter, food and beverages.

  Trails are groomed and double-tracked for classical skiing. The family campground roads are closed to traffic and groomed to accommodate skate skiing. 
Shiocton 46  Navarino Wildlife Area    20km     715-758-6999
  15,000-acre Navarino Wildlife Area with open fields, conifer swamps, hardwood forests, pine plantations and aspen/oak forests. 
Stevens Point 47  Plover River Ski Trail    10k     715-346-1531
  Mostly wooded terrain along segments of Plover River. Warming shelter open on weekends. Located off Hwy 66 east of Stevens Point past the airport; turn right at Plover River Trail sign.

  Lots of hills make this an intermediate to expert trail system. 
Sturgeon Bay 49  Crossroads at Big Creek    9km     920-746-5895
  Located in the heart of Door County, the Crossroads at Big Creek is a nature preserve with a ski trail system. 
Sturgeon Bay 50  Potawatomi State Park    17km     920-746-2890
  Located on the shores of Sturgeon Bay just northwest of the city of Sturgeon Bay. Terrain is gently rolling upland bordered by steep slopes and rugged limestone cliffs. 
Sturgeon Bay 51  Whitefish Dunes State Park    8mi     920-823-2400
  The park features forests and dunes along the rugged coast of Lake Michigan and include a large expanse of sandy beach and the highest dunes in the state. 
Townsend 52  Jones Spring Area Trail    18K    
  A wide range of trails overlooking lakes and flowing through a variety of terrain.

  Located along the shores of Lake Michigan.

  Scenic trail system with a number of hills. 
Wausau 55  Greenwood Hills Trail    10K    
  This trail is located on hilly terrain just east of the Wausau City limits on Greenwood Hills Golf Course. This golf course skiing provides challenging climbs and exhilarating downhills. The trail includes wooded sections. 
Wausau 56  Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area    29.6k     715-693-3001
  One of the top trails in NE Wisconsin. Trails are generally one-way and double-tracked (skate and classic). The ski chalet offers a changing area, ski and snowshoe equipment rentals, daily and annual trail passes, and restrooms. There roughly 6K of lighted trails and programmed to go on at dusk until 9 pm. Trail difficulty ranges from beginner to difficult.  
Wausau 57  Sylvan Hill Park    2.1k     715-261-1550
  Rated beginner to intermediate. The trails are hilly and wooded and meander through Sylvan Hill Park. Parking is available in the Sylvan Chalet parking lot. 
White Lake 58  Bear Paw Trails    20km    
  This trail system is maintained by Bear Paw Outdoor Adventures. There is no fee, and located on Bear Paw property and on private property. It is a mix of beginner trails and more advanced with a couple of steep climbs and downhills. Open and forested lands, with a beautiful picnic point on the Wolf River.

  Mix of skate and classic trails over rolling terrain. 
Wisconsin Rapids 60  Nepco Lake County Park    6.25K    
  Nepco Lake County Park is located one mile south of Wisconsin Rapids on County Z. There are 6.25km (3.8 miles) of ski trails on rolling terrain. All trails are groomed for skate and classic skiing by River Cities Nordic Ski Club. (Submitted by Mike Lauterbach)

  Located near Rhinelander, these trails provide a good variety of terrain. 
Woodruff 62  Raven Trails    16km     715-385-3355 x121
  The trails wind past Clear, Hemlock, and Inkpot Lake. There are a couple of steep hills and most of the trails require intermediate skiing abilities. There is also a four mile expert trail (red loop). A shelter with a fire ring can be found on the trail.
