Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Well, you can't have it both ways! The hoped for morning snow covered a freshly groomed system resulting in soft and slow conditions. The ANC's PB's we'll get some extra work in, just like skiers did this morning. Skating was the better choice. Carpe Skiem!

Amazing. Skated above the glacier that supports an incredible firm, fast and fun deck in 17 degrees under a sun drenched sky. Full depth classic tracks chiseled in that same solid base for the striders. Thank you ANC, what a tremendous gift to the Nordic skiing community. Carpe Skiem!

Firm, fast and fun! Skated the well established 2.7 K loop under a brilliant blue sky in 32 degrees while biathlon training was underway. The stiff breeze out of the northwest helped balance out the speedy skate deck I enjoyed. Full depth classic tracks were observed. Carpe skiem!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The skate deck on the 2.5 km circuit is level, well compacted, and clean. It is very fast save for the strong northerly wind. Classic tracks are partially present. They have been removed on the biathlon event course today and contain wind blown snow. Excellent conditions for skaters today.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The skate deck is 2.5 km. It is wide, well compacted, and very fast. The trail is tolerating the warm conditions remarkably well. There is a trivial amount of dirt staining the apex of slingshot, easily avoidable. Classic tracks are well formed and fast. This is where skiers come to get spoiled.

Strided the well groomed and well established 2.7K loop in 19 degrees under a brilliant blue sky. Heavy snow making underway with 9 active snow guns, along with a busy Piston Bully expanding the northern connectors. If you want to treat yourself to awesome conditions, ski The ANC. Carpe Skiem!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The trail is 2.6 km, flat, wide, well groomed and fast. Very rare pebbles were seen, and these were inconsequential. Classic tracks are substantial but a trace slower than the skate deck. Excellent conditions today.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Good skiing conditions this morning in 37 degrees, under a dreary sky. The base, which ranges from 15" to +4', held up from the Christmas warmup. The ski was a little slower than the typical ANC ski given the conditions, but very enjoyable. The parking lot was filling up nicely as we left. Carpe Skiem!

Deep classic tracks + a freshly combed skate deck = lots of happy skiers this morning at the ANC. Skied from 9:30-11:30 under sunny skies in 38 degree temps. Absolutely perfect. Carpe skiem!

The skate deck is 2.6 km and has excellent grooming. A full circuit is estimated at 100 feet of elevation gain. Classic tracks are substantial and fast. A fast and excellent day at this venue.
