Thanx to Mother Nature and the expertise of the groomers the classic tracks were fabulous. Best I’ve skied all season. Skied Y, T, A and D. I’m not an expert skier by any means though I’ve skied for 40 years. Hills were moderately slow and safe.

Went up to Wausau for a quick afternoon ski. Wow. Nine Mile was fantastic! Did Leo's and the 10K loop. Nothing at all was icy or dangerous. Just a beautiful and totally safe ski. Special Olympics there Saturday, but staff say they will only use a 4K loop and the rest of the system will be open.

Most of the skate deck was excellent with fresh grooming. Some of the bigger, curvy downhills are good (relatively speaking) but need to be taken somewhat cautiously as they are icy underneath the corduroy the groomer is able to put down over them. I was able to get an edge and maintain control on them but it was lite traffic out there today - likely more skated out on a busier day. But, again these areas are limited in number. Overall, a great day of skiing there. I didn't stride but can report that the classic tracks are deep but icy.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skated a bit before switching to classic. Both had a great glide without ice spots. Kudos to the groomers who have done an amazing job getting rid of ice. Saturday is Special Olympics. They use a very small corner of the course so we will be fully open for skiing and snowshoeing.

All Nine Mile trails are groomed for skating. Multiple passes with the groomer provided good skiing conditions. Classic tracks are reset on most trails as well. Perfect skiing tonight.

Y and the inner loop were groomed and beautiful. Last 3 k of the longer trails also nice! Fast and hard! Good base, minimal debris! Tracks set hard and clean!

I skated Nine mile this afternoon. Snow cover is good with enough base and minimal debris. Conditions were hard packed with much of it icy. Conditions were variable from very good to icy. Some of the trails they groomed on Monday so they got very hard and icy. The trails they have groomed since then are not nearly as hard packed and icy. Overall, conditions were descent and very skiable.

Trails were glare ice. I’m hoping they’ll get groomed again soon to break up how hard the trail is. Plenty of base.

As close from perfection as it can be. Firm and fast skate deck; beautiful and firm classic tracks throughout. With the warm temperature, no ice either, but generally cold enough so the snow remained fast on almost all trail sections. Bring your A skis and your A game. I only had my B skis because my A skis weren't waxed and I keep them for cold snow but I wish I had them.
