Wonderful fresh tracks Thursday on the 10k loop. All of Nine Mile is open with plenty of snow, no rain, well groomed trails. Now there is a child's book ski trail. Check it out.

Outstanding conditions again at nine mile. Skate deck hard with new shallow corduroy over the top, the classic tracks looked to semi ice glazed except for the newly set tracks, which looked to be more then half the trails.

Crews did a great job getting the trails reset after Saturday's Badger State Games. A little debris on some of the trails that weren't part of the BSG courses, though. Skate deck is a bit on the firm/abrasive side so maybe adjust wax accordingly.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Everything was groomed last night and this morning. There are still leaves in spots, but fewer than a few weeks ago. Slightly warmer today. The 6k has a moderate speed track.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Arrived at Nine Mile as they opened at 9:00 and spent the full day classic skiing the trails. Tracks were firm and deep. Solid pole plants throughout the entire system. A few more leaves than I expected, but it was truly a great day to be skiing.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Almost perfect conditions. We classic skied the 10 k trails. The track was firm with very little debris (oak trees you will always have that issue). The front desk said almost everything was groomed. It should be perfect for next weekend, good luck to the Badger State competitors.

Alps were groomed, tracked and awesome. Fast downhill but good control on cordouroy. Only prob was fair amount of leaf litter in tracks.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The vast majority of the trail surface was beautiful for skating. There are a few places where there is minimal soft surface snow to catch an edge but those instances were far between. Conditions for classic were a "tease". Snow quality was beautiful and tracks were well-formed. However, there were so many leaves in the tracks that it wasn't worth using them with my waxed skis. I skied almost 30k and only about 5k was in the tracks. All they need is to run down the trail with a leaf blower :).

fantastic conditions for skate, alps trail looked to be a few days old but other wise about an inch of groomed softer snow over a hard base. Classic tracks looked great newly set but the ever present oak leaves seem to like collecting there. Great day to be out.
