Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

Freshly groomed this morning. Tracks were fantastic throughout (we skied everything except south of A). Skate deck looked good although some spots with deeper grooves. Some spotty debris from Friday's wind but easy to avoid.

A beautiful snow globe kinda morning at Lester. About an inch of freshies on top of a mostly hard track. A few pole plunges, so be alert! Go get some.

Sunny, 15 degrees F. Track well used but still in very good condition. Packed tight, good speed on the downhills and a double-poling delight. Very little debris. Lots of skiers out this afternoon!

Lester River Park freshly groomed at about 12:30 PM. Beautiful trails, nice classical tracks and beautiful deck for skating. Skied the whole outer loop and is moderately fast, no ice, a few sticks, but all problem trees have been removed. Some wind but hardly noticeable. A beautiful balmy day to get out and ski and thank you so much to our great groomers!

Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate deck was firm and fast but also fairly cratered and haggardd despite being groomed only the day before. Clearly the groomers had their work cut out for them and everyone and their cousin wanted to get out afterward! The classic track felt amazing on the downhills and inspired more confidence in the dark.

The trees that fell during the storm were cleared and the trails were groomed today. Classic tracks were great.

Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Good skis ]
Trails were classic only with skier made tracks. The Parks & Recreation trail condition phone line states that there a multiple trees down and the groomer will try again tomorrow. The classic track is fun. I did see two trees down across the trails, some others have been cleared.

You can ski if you're OK with all powder and skier made trails (thank you to all who have gone before me) :) beautiful night but slow backcountry style skiing.

Sunny and 45 degrees. Trail in surprisingly good shape with solid tracks and only a modest amount of debris. Sunny parts softer and slower, shaded sections faster, which made for an occasional "jerky" skiing experience. Some bare ground showing, notable on approach to E after a great ride on D.
