Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

The trees that fell during the storm were cleared and the trails were groomed today. Classic tracks were great.

Trails were classic only with skier made tracks. The Parks & Recreation trail condition phone line states that there a multiple trees down and the groomer will try again tomorrow. The classic track is fun. I did see two trees down across the trails, some others have been cleared.

You can ski if you're OK with all powder and skier made trails (thank you to all who have gone before me) :) beautiful night but slow backcountry style skiing.

Sunny and 45 degrees. Trail in surprisingly good shape with solid tracks and only a modest amount of debris. Sunny parts softer and slower, shaded sections faster, which made for an occasional "jerky" skiing experience. Some bare ground showing, notable on approach to E after a great ride on D.

Lester was groomed yesterday and it looks like quite a few skaters took advantage of the new corduroy. The tracks are firm, deep, and fast. There is a fair amount of debris.

Amazing how well the tracks have held up - classic trail was solid, deep and fast but not icy. A little bark and pine cone debris here and there. Did lots of double poling. A few of the landings are thinning with a bit of dirt coming through. Weather was perfect in the low 20s.

I'm gushing about how good the classic tracks were at Lester today. Really fun conditions. Including the unlit sections.

15F. Sunny no wind. The trails are amazing! The skate deck is skied in and hard, but still looks like you can get purchase. The classic tracks are perfect. Some parts of the classic track are thin closer to the lake. But the snow cover further away from the lake is quite good.

Lester is setup and solid. Must have been groomed recently for amazing tracks and corduroy on the deck. Started at the lower park and only saw a bit of dirt on the first climb (easy to avoid). Great snow coverage and grooming through the trail system. Bundle up and enjoy the ski!
