Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

Groomed, not plowed! All wheel drive cars only to reach trailhead at the Deeps. The trails are 400 yards from my house. Was shoveling as the Piston Bully went by returning to its flat bed truck.

Groomers were out as we finished our ski around 1:30. Looked to be setting classic tracks too. Love these trails!

Classic skied almost all loops twice this morning. Nice deep classic tracks and skate deck nicely groomed as well, likely early this morning. Beautiful conditions!

The fresh snow was beautiful at Lester tonight. Trails are well-groomed for classic. The powder slowed me down a little on the downhill but I still had great glide.

City just groomed this morning after our 3 inch snowfall. A little tender on the uphills (make sure to not push off) but easy on the old joints! The tracksets are immaculate. I'll be back tonight to classic. Beautiful in the woods today.

Morning
Observation
Freshly groomed, but the skate deck was very soft and did not look set up yet. Did not ski it.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Lester has been groomed again, all except for the "G" loop, which is still in good condition anyway. Tracks are good throughout, though someone skated on them a lot before they had a chance to set up and hacked 'em up a bit. Looked like the skate lane had some minor washboarding in spots, but overall conditions were very good this evening.

Fast skate deck, plenty of edge. Classic track are top rated. Really a wonderful time in the woods.

Very good conditions. There was a pretty snowfall while we were out late this afternoon, just enough to dress things up and to make the kicking slow. Tracks are firm and deep throughout and the recent grooming cleared out a lot of the debris. Really fun ski. The skating looked nice, too.

The 1” of fresh snow made all the difference. The debris is covered. A couple icy sections aren’t completely covered but are in flat sections. Skating was great for all loops and classic looked like you could use hard wax again.
