Conditions are wonderful at Lester. All irregularities are gone now with the consistent grooming. Trails today were freshly groomed with a bit of fresh powder on top. Skate lane was great. A little sugary on the steep uphills. Classic tracks looked great. For some reason groomers missed the spur that goes steeply down to the chalet then back to the main loop. The steep downhill was fun in the powder. Get out and enjoy!

Perfect conditions on the main loop. Freshly groomed after Monday/Tuesday snow. Skate deck was great, classic tracks looked great as well.

The coverage and grooming were really good. The initial hill up from the bottom usually has bare spots this time of year, but with the big snow fall was completely covered. I found only a couple of thin spots the whole way. About the only thing that would keep me from using good skis is that there was a fair amount of debris on the trail from the wind that accompanied the blizzard. The final downhill to the bottom has a lot of pine debris on it, but the upper trails are pretty clear.

Skied Lester this morning. All trails are in great shape. Felt like Spring skiing with warmer weather.

Groomers did an excellent job getting the trail in good shape. Tracks are excellent now. Soft pole plants by tracks but excellent on most of skate deck. Trails well used as of 5pm Saturday but no complaints, so happy to have midwinter conditions already!

I went down to ski this afternoon and the conditions were amazing. The skate deck was flat and fast the whole outer loop and the classic tracks felt solid too. I had no issues with my poles planting in the snow either. Besides coming up the hill from the very bottom of the trails where there are a few downed branches that are easily avoidable, the trails are excellent. Make sure to come visit the chalet on seven bridges road too, where a warm cup of hot chocolate awaits.

Good to see groomed trails at Lester. As far as I can tell they've groomed the whole thing. Not really any classic tracks to speak of. Skate deck is variable mostly firm though its soft on some of the steeper up hills. As to be expected with this amount of snow the grooming is not 100% but moving forward it should be much better. Right now it's a bit bumpy with ruts here and there. The groomer sunk in a bit in spots. Some tree debris in the beginning. Some human postholing. Overall definitely fun and worth skiing just not A+ conditions yet. Notes: steep downhill by chalet very icy and rutted, be careful!

Lots of downed trees at the bottom coming up from the park; best to go along the river a bit and then up. Groomed nicely for skate skiing, no track set yet. Snow was a tad soft.

As of noon the trail is groomed for skating. No classical track yet but still easy to ski. Also, take care at the bottom of some of the hills where there are holes and broken snow. The wind has knocked down some of the snow in the trees but not all. Upper end is quite gorgeous.

The plow just went by our house at 9:05 am. While clearing my driveway at 9:30, City of Duluth groomer drove by on the way to the trails. Life is finally good.
