Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Chomonoix was groomed for skate only. A couple of classic skiers out doing their best on the edge of the trail but really not a good place to classic ski this morning.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Chomonoix hasn't been groomed in several days. The skate deck was snow covered but it looked like one person had given it a try. I skied classic and some skiers before me had skied in the fresh snow so you can seen where the tracks are pretty well. It was slow going compared to normal but a nice sunny ski overall.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied early afternoon, just as the sky clouded over. There was a fresh inch or snow that was mostly skied in in the classic tracks, not as much traffic on the skate deck. Definitely better for classic because of some drifting and a few icier sections. Some leaf debris, but mostly clean tracks. No problems using good skis. Not very fast conditions, but at least the winds had died down. Saw a number of other skiers during our loop around the trail system.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The classic track set up really well with the cold weather. Even the multiuse trail had a nice track. There are a few thin spots which are easy to step around. B skis due to oak leaves and sticks blowing onto the trail with the strong winds this afternoon. Watch for bare pavement at the snowmobile crossing on the multiuse trail. The skate deck also looked good, although it is narrower in spots because the classic track was moved closer to the middle of the trail.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I classic skied the outer loop this evening. The newly groomed track is fantabulous. The pristine skate deck also looked welcoming. Thank You to the Anoka County Groomers for doing an outstanding job.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied Chomonix this afternoon and found one groomed classic track and a wide skate deck, both in great shape. One connector segment on the back loop was not groomed, but it was short and didn't pose much of a challenge. Beautiful day to be out!

Groomed for skate and classic. Tracks are deep in most but not all spots. Look out for the oak leaves.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skate skijored the multi-use green loop. Rolled nicely for skating, with new snow falling. We walked this full loop and picked every branch we could get our hands on before it snowed on the 26th, so it was smooth skating today. A few lumpy rollers and grass poking through on Geo Watch side but we have coverage! Wirth and Elm manmade loops are always awesome for training but this was a fun change.
