Notes

Mcnaughton Lake Trail follows old logging roads around three lakes and has very few steep hills. It is very scenic and an excellent trail for a beginner. A five and a half mile loop is groomed for skating. There is a shelter with a fire ring on the trail.

Freestyle trail ok from parking lot to warming shelter, then groomed too narrow around McNaughton lake. Ski tips catch on side of trail, especially uphill. Two inches powder also complicates things.

Freshly groomed yesterday, tracks a bit shallow, many bits of tree trash but - skiing conditions are delightful here. I just love the big old pine trees! A definite destination ski system for visitors to the area.

Came in right after the groomer at 11:30 and were the first two on fresh cord! Rare treat. A 2” and 1” recent snowfalls made conditions soft, but 26F made the glide silky. Nice grooming!
