It was a beautiful day in the trees at Lebanon Hills, with lots of folks out enjoying the trails. I skied pretty much the whole system. Tracks are in pretty decent shape given the relatively thin snow cover. Tracks are washed out in a couple spots, and a few of the downhills are beginning to get rutted. Coverage is good, but I did see a couple of exposed roots and some tiny spots of gritty soil poking through the snow--all pretty easily avoided. As typical for these trails, there was a lot of debris. By the end, I had about 25% oak leaf for kick wax. I also found myself dodging about one or two coyote scats every mile. Seems they like to post right in the tracks. The trails could use more snow to freshen everything up and bury the leaves--but it's still a beautiful ski.

I had a good ski this morning at Lebanon Hills Park. From the Visitor Center I skied East past Schulz lake onto the Eastern most loop then back thru the by Marsh lake. From there I skied South to marker 60 then up thru the Pines to marker 57 then thru the central trails past marker 42 then past the A-frame on Portage Lake and on to marker 36. From there I turned west to marker 7 then turned back East to the Visitor Center. I found the trails to be in pretty good condition having been groomed (packed and tracked) just a day or so ago. There were a few spots that were wind blown and others with some leaf debris but all in all a good ski with mostly good tracks.

Waiting until 9:00 pm when it was warmest to start. Tracks had set up nicely from grooming on Monday, and were faster where not windblown or where oak leaves had blown in. Skied the outer loop of the eastern section. Boot prints most prevalent on the North side of the park.

Skied the inside loop at about 6PM, 5 degrees, moonless sky. Freshly groomed, but the tracks were fairly shallow. Should set up nicely overnight, but I'd say the volunteer tracks from yesterday were faster. Some walkers didn't waste time getting into the tracks. Used Rex Green Glide wax with Start Terva Green for kick. Beware exposed roots near Marsh Lake on the East side.

Skied the outer loop early this afternoon. Signs of a groomer leveling out the trail but no tracks yet. Snow conditions were great, just need some tracks!

I started skiing from the Holland Lake trailhead about 2 pm, and the trails on the north side of the park had not yet been groomed. When I got to the south side of the park, where it becomes the Southern Voyager Trek, the groomer had just finished that section, so I continued skiing around the park on freshly groomed trails! The tracks were in excellent condition, since I was the first skier to use them!

Best snow of the season at Lebanon Hills! No grooming, but skier-set tracks were quite good. We started from Schultze Lake and skied mostly the outermost trails all the way around. Not too many hiking boot tracks on the ski trails today. Enough snow to cover all the grass and sticks. Very few leaves. Swix V10 kick wax worked well on our wooden skis.

Quite reminiscent of the ski tracks of my youth which we usually skier made. The new snow added sufficient softness to erase the icy terror of a few days past. I used my B skis, but would have been comfortable with my good skis. Still plenty of boot tracks on the trails. I used Rex Green Glider and Start Terva black for kick as it was about 5 degrees F.

Great snow, but no grooming. At the trailhead, I asked why. No reason given, but they assured me they'd groom Monday. Still, a good day to be at Lebanon.

Trails are opened but are not groomed when we were there. The snow was powdery so it was easy to ski through and enough people have skied so there are tracks. We skied from the visitor center to Holland Lake then back. It was overall great conditions but not groomed. No rocks, dirt, etc showing.
