Great conditions today and well groomed. I went to the Advanced and beginner sections and everything was excellent. I did not make it to ski games section.

Great conditions on all the loops. Ski Games was a little soft, and appeared to have seen nearly as many boots as skis (though only a few of either), but the tracks were in good shape and the deck looked pretty solid (with an inch or so of fresh snow over the corduroy). The bottoms of some of the hills on the Gold loop were getting rutted, and the tracks were washed out in a couple places on the Silver loop, but overall everything was on great shape. A high school meet was about to get under way as I packing up.

BC was a blast this morning. About an inch of loose snow on top of a firm deck. Some blowing snow in the open areas was filling in the tracks but in general amazing conditions. I had thought the track would be soft but the groomers worked their magic and the wet snow compacted nicely. Beautiful morning.

7am ski. Ski conditions are excellent for skate/classic. Groomers have done a wonderful job. Yes some drifting but no oak leaves.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were completely groomed last night. With the new snow early this morning the Snow Boss got out and groomed all the machine made snow and set a track mid morning. All natural snow trails were packed without track setting. It was just to sticky to set a nice track. Grooming plans: The trail system will be refreshed with track set overnight. Conditions right now are a bit soft with the temp above freezing. With colder weather the conditions should be super.

No new grooming, surprisingly. So, I set a track on classic kick wax skis. Snow gummed up a bit, but once I skied a full upper lap - in the woods (someone did set a track around the small loop) I was able to ski and kick. It was beautiful and worth it, nice to reap the snowy rewards!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The Gold and Silver natural snow trails were groomed this morning. A classic track was set, though it is not deep. There are a few spots with debris and leaves on the trails. The Ski Games section was not groomed - waiting for more snow.

Man made snow loop groomed and new classic tracks set. Trail remains in excellent condition. Small area of low snow on the edge of the "A" climb that is easily avoidable.

Unfortunately due to warm snow last night, the tiller did not drop at midnight as planned. Apologies to all of the early birds who had to wait for me to finish up this morning by 8:00. Fortunately, the entire lighted loop was groomed with fresh tracks set and is in excellent condition. Enjoy your New Years Day Hiihto!
