[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied late afternoon, found the trails groomed up nicely! The skate deck was firm but not hard packed, plenty of snow and very little debris -- good skis would be fine. Saw a nice deep classic track everywhere I skied. The backside trails are some of the most technical trails in the state, and incredible fun. My only negative was the cold weather.

Man-made trails all in premo shape! Pristine corduroy and all newly-set, solid deep tracks, with no leaves at all in tracks (unlike yesterday). Tracks were a bit slower than trail, but I wasn't racing. Nicest trail conditions I've seen this year.

Bronze is pristine. Silver has a stretch of pine needles. Some oak leaves strewn across Gold and World Cup. None of it worth worrying about. The groomers have given us a wonderful gift. Get out and be about it!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Pete and I groomed Ski Games and set new tracks this morning. We also touched up the the skate deck on all natural snow trails. We left the tracks as is, looked very good other than oak leaves.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the man-made snow trails early this morning. New classic tracks were set so no more worries about tracks being wind blown and full of snow. It was a beautiful morning to watch the sun come up from the cab of the Pisten Bully. Grooming plans: Watching the forecast and timing tomorrow's grooming to take advantage.

Skied the entire trail system. The open (man-made snow) sections were continually blown in such that the track was fairly slow and shallow in many places, although glide on the skate deck (and in tracks in the woods that were not blown in) was good, given the low temps. Ski games trails should be avoided; they cut down the most of the north side woods so that now you just wind through a big open wind-blown field, where even the skate deck in many places was all blown in, with virtually no tracks remaining. The south side was a bit better but also lacking set tracks in many places. Not really a nice place to ski anymore, and that's just sad.

Wonderful conditions on the natural trails in the woods and manmade loop. Freshly groomed, faster than expected for this cold, some leaves on trails from the wind. The field was wind blown though and I wouldn't recommend it. Happy skiing!

Just the groomer and I out were out on this lovely day. The whole system (including ski games) is groomed for skate and classic. Skate would have been the technique to use today as the tracks were filling in with drifted snow as soon as they were made. Found myself diagonal striding on the deck a fair amount. Sections in the woods were far better. Thanks so much groomers for braving the elements and compacting our new snow!

Skied thru the blizzard around the entire system. In spite of several inches of new snow and several inches additional while skiing the classic tracks were in good shape even on the natural snow trails. Cold made it slow but the coverage on the natural snow trails was complete and smooth. Lighted trails were also great and tracks were maintained by skiers as the snow accumulated.

The trails on the manufactured-snow trails were in beautiful shape for both skate and classic. The glide in the classic tracks was surprisingly good (a bit less glide on the skate deck) for -5 F. Light snow was starting as I finished - a hint of the weather to come!
