Refreshed the Silver, Gold, and Ski Games trails tonight. Plenty of snow, very good skating conditions. The track are good, shallow in some places.

Skied every inch of Battle Creek today, just after an East Metro HS meet wrapped up. (Someone left all the course-marker cones behind over 5k of track.) Abundant snow everywhere, conditions fine, and tracks looked mostly good. Ski Games trails were pillow-soft: not to everyone's taste. A few leaves in spots, and there was a bit of a toboggan-chute profile on some of the steepest back downhill turns. But overall, it was a great day and great conditions at Battle Creek!

Skied early afternoon, found the trails to be in very good condition. It's been a number of years since I've been able to ski here, and it's always an eye-opening reminder how technical and so fun these trails are! Some of the best in the Midwest for challenging terrain, yet there are other segments that provide easy, gently rolling experience. It was well groomed today, only the Ski Games ski was just a little softer, but it all skied very nicely. Newer trail markers are excellent.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished grooming this morning. Groomed all trails except Ski games, West of Battle Creek road. Trails are in great shape but snow is a bit soft. Enjoy!

Pretty good striding although a little soft (and already leafy tracks thanks to the wind). There's plenty of snow - I did not see any grass or dirt. I stayed in the woods out of the nasty wind and had an enjoyable ski at dusk. As usual, awesome grooming - a big thanks to the dedicated BC grooming crew.

Still fairly soft skate deck. Made it easy to control speed on the big hills. Tracks in good condition.

Gold, Silver, Bronze and Ski Games packed and new track set. Still pretty soft, and drifting in exposed areas; otherwise good conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The silver and gold trails have been groomed and tracks set. There are a very few, small, thin spots where the snow is dirty. The classic track has a short grassy spot near the top of the hill at the parking lot and another thin spot shortly after that; there are also leaves in the track in some places, but as a whole the track look like they are in decent condition. Also groomed a short circuit on the ball field with double classic tracks and a skate deck. Ski games was groomed on Saturday.

Primo winter conditions - the new snow really refreshed the place. WC loop is recently groomed for skate. Random portions have tracks set. Other portions are tracked in by classic skiers. Prairie area is largely untracked. Ski games is not groomed but still got good glide on the icy skin that developed a couple days ago. Super fun!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We attempted to groom Tuesday night but encountered problems with the groomer. Bill took out the classic track on the Bronze trail with the intention of coming back and setting a new track. Because of the groomer problems, he could not set the new classic track but the single skate lane is very nice on the bronze and should be quite good on the Silver and Gold. New classic track was set on the gold trail. The skiing is quite good right now especially skating. We will groom the Ski Games as soon as the groomer is back in working order. Get out and enjoy the new snow!
