I went for a skate ski after work. I did the World Cup course. It was really nice to be out on fresh snow! Only half the skate deck was groomed, but was still a great ski. There were a few leaves on the course in the woods, but nothing to worry about. The Ski Games course was not groomed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the skate lane on Gold and Silver before Groomer broke down 300 meters from parking lot. So one pass on the skate lane on new soft snow and set classic track on Gold Trail only. Skate lane is quite soft with the new snow and classic track is skied in and looks quite good to ski in. We are going out tonight to do the Ski Games side and plan to groom more after new snow. Get out and enjoy the new snow.

West, East, and Ski Games ungroomed but Ski Game trails were very good considering a man-made track. Started at West but thin track and wanted more so skipped over to Games and was rewarded. Support Statewide and Local grooming and buy the annual pass. Small price for year long fun. Thank you groomers. You rock!

Tenderized the skate deck on the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Ski Games trails. Mixed bag of fair and hard-packed; also some skate ruts. Classic tracks very firm but many sections with leaves and twigs.

We skied Ski Games in the late afternoon. Fantastic views of the moon and sunset. Skate deck was hard and icy. The classic tracks were well set but infested with leaves.

Amazingly good conditions on the portion of the trails that are lit. One thin spot out in the field where it has been most of the season so far. Otherwise absolutely fantastic snow. A few annoying leaves of course.

Refreshed Silver Trail - skate deck and set classic tracks. Did our best to rake up leaves on trail. Trimmed branches away from the classic track for more clearance. There is a high school meet this afternoon from 3-6p at Winthrop Trail. It’s fast out there. Have fun!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All of the trails, except for the A Climb on the World Cup trail, received a fresh grooming this morning. The skate deck throughout the system is in very good condition. Very few bares spots and none that are a problem for skiers. Classic tracks have not been reset on the main trails, but will be for tomorrow's ski meet. Ski Games trails were regroomed and tracks were reset, and it is in very good to excellent condition. Good skis would have been recommended except for the leaf debris in some areas that continues to be a problem. We need more snow, but for now, the trails are holding up well.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails at Battle Creek were combed out this morning including the Ski Games trail and the JOC practice field. No tracks were reset. Most tracks are shallow and well used, we need more snow to reset. The skate lane is good to excellent all over. I should add we do have our leaves. At this time there is only one spot that has grass/dirt showing through but easy to step around.

Grooming

Skating deck refurbished on the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Ski Games trails. Thin in spots and just a few bare areas. Best in the woods, except for the leaves. Classic track in fair condition: some bare and icy sections and lots of leaves.
