New Reports Report Requests

Notes

A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.

And the Lost Boys said, "look Peter remembers how to fly." Awesome grooming and classic skiing today! Ended up skiing 45 km and noticed great new tracks on all trails but Anchor and Jerry's Long Loop. The great conditions made it a really fun, fast ski. Glide was descent, kick was good, snow is still a little soft in spots. Good amount of people and dogs also enjoyed it. Thanks again groomers! Ski on.

Conditions were very good, no grooming in the last couple days. Skate track had some drifting and ungroomed snow although very skiable. Classic tracks were in good/great condition.

Classic skied 18 km this afternoon. Wicked slow and wind drifted conditions. Thank you combi boots for saving my ankles. Skied Anchor, Seagull, Northern Lights, and Buzz. Saw a few tracks here and there. Painful, but a good ski. Hopefully, with the warmer temperatures the groomers can work their magic and bring back excellent conditions!

Classic skied 28 km today. Brought my pregnant girlfriend for her second lesson in 3 degree, 15 mile an hour wind. Abbey Road and Sugarbush were excellent for her to learn on. She skied 10 km in wind blown tracks. Nothing, but smiles and frozen eyelashes. After, I skied Anchor, Northern Lights, and Buzz. The trails were all wind blown and snow was slow/cold, glide was minimal, but kick was excellent! Look forward to fresh firm tracks and skate deck in the next couple days. You rock groomers!

It was soft and uneven, so skiing was a bit slow. But it was more than fully covered (20" of snow on Wed!!) and it was gorgeous out.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire trail system was groomed: Abbey Road, Jerry Jolly, Anchor, Seagull, Northern Lights and the Buzz. Trails may set up overnight and reward those who ski in cold conditions. Classic trail Deer Path has not been tracked yet but is very skiable after being rolled and dragged.

Classic skied between 35 to 40 km today. Snow is still soft in the tracks and on skate decks. Not all trails are fully groomed. Not all trails have full depth tracks. Found the best conditions on Anchor, Abbey Road, Sugarbush trails, part of Northern Lights, and Seagull. Overall, it was a great ski and conditions were ok. Great to see so many people enjoying the trails! I can't wait to ski the entire trail system again when it's all fully groomed! Hopefully, by next week. Until then I look forward to teaching someone how to xc ski there tomorrow. Ski on.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received 15"-24" of fresh snow yesterday. High winds created a lot of drifting. All the trails are packed and many are flat dragged. The flat dragged segments are: Abbey Road, Skid Road, Seagull, Anchor cluster, Deer Path, Black Bear, Sugarbush, North Lower Sugar Bush, Oppedahl's Alley and South Lower Sugar Bush.

Classic skied a 44 km figure-8 of trails this afternoon. It's nice to see more skiers! It didn't seem like it had been groomed for a few days, but the conditions are good. The tracks are fairly firm, great glide, good kick and most skate decks are fairly firm. Northern Lights could be touched up a bit. The best conditions are on the Jolly Long Loop. Overall, an awesome ski! Thanks again groomers! Ski on.

Special Green classic skiing is the best classic skiing. I skied most of the trails today and conditions were great, mostly pretty firm tracks and a light dusting of new snow in places, which made for slow going, but kept me warm. The skate deck looked good, probably groomed one day ago, but wasn't getting much use. A great day to be outside!
